Ingredients:

  • 1 can (15 oz.) Chickpeas (rinsed and drained)
  • 1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp Sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp Cracked black pepper

How to Make Crispy Chickpeas in the Air Fryer:

1.      Dry the Chickpeas: This is the most important step! Use a clean kitchen towel or paper towels to pat the chickpeas until they are bone-dry.

2.      Season: In a medium mixing bowl, toss the dried chickpeas with olive oil until every chickpea is glistening. Sprinkle in the garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss again to coat evenly.

3.      Air Fry: Preheat your air fryer to 200°C. Spread the chickpeas in the basket in a single layer.

4.      Roast: Cook for 12–15 minutes. Every 5 minutes, remove the basket and give it a good shake to ensure even crispiness.

5.      Cool: Let them cool for at least 5-10 minutes. They will continue to crisp up as they reach room temperature.

Kitchen Secret: If you want them "Extra Crunchy," turn off the air fryer after the 15 minutes are up and let the chickpeas sit inside the warm basket for an additional 5 minutes.
